01How does proxy country and city targeting work?
You set the country and city by adding values to your proxy username. Add country and a country code after user to get IPs from that country, then add city and a city name to get IPs from that city.
City names with spaces use an underscore, as in new_york. To hold the same IP for a while, add a session value, and rotating residential proxies keep the same IP for up to 120 minutes.
If you would rather click than type, open Create connection details in the dashboard and choose the country, city and session. It builds HTTP, SOCKS5, host:port:user:pass and curl formats for you to copy.
Keep the rest of the username as it is and change only the country code to move to another country instantly. That makes it easy for one program to loop through a list of countries and repeat the same job in every market.
- United States IPs, user-country-us.
- New York IPs, user-country-us-city-new_york.
- A held Japan session, user-country-jp-session-shop1.
- UK mobile IPs, user-type-mobile-country-gb.
02Which proxy country should I choose for SEO, price and ad checks?
Choose the country where the customers you care about live. Search results, product prices and ads all change with the visitor's country, so an IP in that market shows you exactly what those customers see.
For SEO rank tracking, pick the country of your target search market, and add a city when local search matters. For price comparison, shops often set prices per country, so checking once in each country you sell to brings the differences to light.
For ad verification, use IPs in the countries and cities where the ad runs to see the real placement and landing page. When comparing countries, run the checks at the same time and change only the country for clean side by side results.
- SEO rank tracking, the target search market.
- Local search, add the city.
- Price comparison, each country you sell to.
- Ad checks, the country and city of the campaign.
03Are mobile and datacenter proxies available in every country?
Residential IPs are available in all 60 countries, mobile IPs in 56 countries and datacenter IPs in 18 countries. The country list on this page shows mobile and datacenter availability next to each country.
Mobile proxies use carrier network IPs, a great match for checking app screens and mobile ads. Add type-mobile to your username and set the country to connect through a mobile IP there.
For ISP, dedicated datacenter, shared datacenter and IPv6 proxies, you choose the country when you order in Buy products. The order screen lists the countries on offer, and you receive IPs in your chosen market for the period you pick.
Pair each country with the right type, mobile IPs for app and mobile ad checks where they are offered and datacenter IPs for bulk lookups where those are offered, and you balance cost and results together.
04Which regions do the proxy locations cover?
ProxyToo proxies cover 60 countries and 175 cities across five regions, Asia, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa, and Oceania. One account and one balance give you IPs in all of them.
Teams that handle several regional markets simply change the country value in the username, all from one account. You can follow the markets through the day, Asia in the morning, Europe in the afternoon and the Americas at night.
Type a name in the country search box to find it in the list right away. Choosing a country opens its own page with the cities you can target and ready connection examples.
The figures at the top of this page sum it up in four numbers, supported countries, cities you can target, countries with mobile IPs and countries with datacenter IPs. Glance at them first when planning, and you can match regions to IP types quickly.
- Asia
- Europe
- The Americas
- The Middle East and Africa
- Oceania
05When should I use city level proxy targeting?
Use city targeting when results change from city to city. Local search rankings, delivery and store information, and city level ad campaigns are typical cases where pages differ within one country.
When you want the overall picture for a country, target the country alone. Your requests then use IPs from many cities across that country, and you add a city only when the job calls for it.
Write the city name as shown on the country page, in lowercase, with underscores for spaces. Once the city is set, add a session value if you need the same IP, so several requests for one page continue from one address.
- Local search ranking checks
- Store and delivery information
- City level ad placement
- Prices that differ by city
06How do I match time zones and local sites to my proxy country?
Matching your browser settings to the IP country gives you the view closest to a local visitor. In Puppeteer, Playwright or Selenium, set the time zone and language to the IP country, and sites show dates, currency and language the local way.
Local sites move with local time. Sales, ad schedules and search trends follow the clock of each country, so checking during local daytime brings you closest to what real customers see.
If you check several countries every day, schedule each check at the same local time in every country. Results from different days then compare under the same conditions, and changes stand out clearly.
Keep an eye on local holidays and shopping seasons too. Raise your check frequency during a country's big sale periods to capture the richest view of price and ad changes.
- Set the browser time zone to the IP country.
- Set the language to the local language.
- Check during local daytime.
- Repeat at the same local time in each country.
07How do I choose the right proxy IP type?
Rotating residential IPs work as soon as you add a country and city to the username, and traffic is charged at $0.78 per GB from your balance. For mobile IPs, add type-mobile to the same username, charged at $2.18 per GB.
When you need fixed addresses, choose ISP, dedicated datacenter, shared datacenter or IPv6 in Buy products and set the country, count and period. Unlimited residential is ordered for 1, 7 or 30 days and mixes IPs from many countries, a strong fit for wide jobs that need no country setting.
Every type is paid from your one balance. Pick the country first, see which IP types it offers on its country page, then choose the product that fits the job for the fastest start.
You can also combine products within one country. Run wide lookups on that country's datacenter IPs and careful checks on its residential IPs to see one market in both depth and breadth.
- Rotating residential, country and city in the username.
- Mobile, add type-mobile and set the country.
- ISP, datacenter and IPv6, choose the country when ordering.
- Unlimited residential, a mix of IPs from many countries.
